To me I think Colin Powell endorsement to Barack Obama was not shocking. The reason why I say that is because after he left President Bush in his second term, i figure he was going to switch over to the democratic side doesn't matter who was democratic nominate. I think this would help Obama with votes because Powell is a republican and he switch sides and I think others will follow. I think the speech Powell gave about his party is moving far right than what he like to see it and feels Obama will bring change to what is going on.

I agree that Powell's endorsement will benefit Obama. I think that whatsurprised a lot of people was that he did not just endorse Obama but that he heaped so much criticism on McCain and on Republican campaign tactics since he and McCain have been long-time friends and political allies.
